Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral for Physical Therapy?

Colorado is a Direct Access state, meaning that no physician referral is required to seek the care of a physical therapist. You have the power to choose the physical therapist you want to see and can do so without a referral. We are always happy, however, to collaborate with your physician and other healthcare providers in order to provide the most integrated and well-rounded care possible.

Do I need to be homebound to receive your services?

No, you do not need to be homebound to receive our services. Traditional Home Healthcare is a service billed under Medicare Part A and requires that patients are homebound. Vive Physio offers outpatient services (Medicare Part B) in the comfort and privacy of your own home. We bring the clinic to you!

Why are you mobile?

Dr. Selby truly feels that she can serve your needs best when care comes to you. Years of experience providing treatment and care in patients' homes has allowed her to see the success that comes from functional training in YOUR environment. Need to work on those tricky stairs to get in and out of the house; do you struggle with transfers into bed or the shower; is it too difficult and time consuming to get to and from a clinic frequently for physical therapy? Do you need a wellness or pain management program that you can do from the privacy and comfort of home? When care is provided in your everyday environment, it is functional and it is easily reproducible for you; therefore, it is EFFECTIVE.

What locations do you serve?

We serve clients in most North Denver and Northern Front Range communities, including Erie, Lafayette, Broomfield, Westminster, Thornton, Brighton, Boulder, Niwot, Longmont, Frederick and Firestone.

How many visits will I need?

This will be determined upon initial evaluation by Dr. Selby. Diagnosis or extent of injury, motivation, compliance and tolerance are all factors that play a role in determining the number of sessions that are appropriate for you.

Can I get reimbursed if you are not in-network with my insurance?

We believe that we can better offer the exceptional, thorough care that we strive to provide by not being limited to the treatment restrictions often implemented by in-network contracts with third party payers (aka commercial insurance companies). We are happy to verify your benefits, work with out-of-network coverage (if possible) or provide a superbill for you to submit to insurance for reimbursement. Although every insurance plan is different, they will often reimburse you at an out-of-network rate, or apply the cost toward your deductible. Vive Physio is an in-network Medicare Part B provider.
